Clap Your Hands Say Yeah

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah is a Brooklyn and Philadelphia based indie-rock band consisting of Alec Ounsworth, Lee Sargent, Robbie Guertin, Tyler Sargent, and Sean Greenhalgh. All the band members attended Connecticut College, in New London, Connecticut, United States

Their debut album, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, recorded by Adam Lasus, was self-released in 2005, receiving attention from numerous MP3 blogs and a favorable review from Pitchfork Media, who gave the band a “Best New Music” commendation. The ensuing demand for the album was so great that the band were forced to re-press the CD, as the initial production run was too small. David Bowie and David Byrne have recently been spotted at some of the band’s shows, garnering them even more press. Most recently, they received praise from Rolling Stone as the ‘Hot New Band’ for 2005. On October 3, 2005, they were signed to Wichita Recordings in the UK.

This is a Cover of 'The Skin of my Yellow Country Teeth' combined with the original accompanied by a funny video.

These guys have a lot of talent, and i expect big things from them in the future. Check them out, help support, and buy their CD!

Kooks - Konk

The Kooks are an English indie rock band, formed in Brighton in 2004. The band currently consists of four members; Luke Pritchard, Hugh Harris, Paul Garred and Peter Denton. They have released two studio albums; their 2006 debut Inside In/Inside Out peaked at number two on the UK Albums Chart, and their 2008 follow up Konk reached number one.

The Kooks

The Kooks formed at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music, where they were all students. Lead singer and rhythm guitarist Luke Pritchard, got bassist Max Rafferty involved in a college project, which formed the base of the band. After getting lead guitarist Hugh Harris and drummer Paul Garred involved, they took their name from the song “Kooks” on the 1971 David Bowie album Hunky Dory. When they tried to trademark the name, they found that in the late/mid 1990s a Swedish band by the same name released an album in Sweden called “Too Much is Not Enough”.

The Kooks released a debut EP and played gigs around Brighton, where they were based at the time. They were signed to Virgin Records.

New Single 'Always Where I Need To Be', taken from the forthcoming album, 'Konk'.

Their second studio album Konk, was produced by Tony Hoffer and was released on 14 April 2008. It is still unknown who wrote the album. In an interview with NME.com, Pritchard revealed that the band have "80 or 90" songs written and ready to record. "I want this album to be big," he said. "I've got an ego – I want the album to do well. I want our singles to come on the radio and for people to literally have their heads blown off by them.

This is the song 'Sway' off Konk

The Kooks have once again pleased fans with Konk. If you like what you hear in these two songs i definitely suggest purchasing the album!

Okkervil River

Just heard these guys for the first time today, and i was impressed.

Okkervil River is an indie folk band from Austin Texas. They formed in 1998, and take their name from a short story by Russian author Tatyana Tolstaya. Their first album "Stars Too Small To Use" was self released and recorded in a garage. The band has released a plethera of albums and although they have not made it huge, i think they are well on their way! The band has garnered positive critical reception. Especially noted are each song's lyrics, intricate instrumentation, and thematic albums. In addition, they were recently featured on the talk show Late Night with Conan O'brien and have performed with high profile bands such as the Decemberists (kick ass), The New Pornographers (Legit Legit), and Lou Reed (Yeah thats right... Lou Reed).

Okkervil River released their most recent album The Stand Ins on September 9th, 2008. They are promoting the release with a series of cover songs from the album on YouTube by people they've met as a band.

I suggest looking into these guys further. They will not dissapoint!

City and Colour - Bring Me Your Love

Until a couple of years ago, Dallas Green was better known as the melodic voice of Alexisonfire. In 2005, Alexisonfire's sophomore album went Platinum, the band won the Juno Award for New Group of the Year, and Green quietly debuted his full-length album titled "Sometimes" under the solo moniker, City and Colour.

Exceeding everyone's expectations, "Sometimes" achieved Platinum certification in 2006. Remaining sincere and affable, Green gave a heartfelt performance at the 2006 MuchMusic Video Awards, where City and Colour won the People's Choice Favourite Canadian Artist award. In 2007, Green performed live on the JUNOS, (Canada's Grammys), taking home the award for Alternative Album of The Year.

"Bring Me Your Love" is City and Colour's sophomore studio album. It evolves and adds layers to the sentiments in those vulnerable moments shared by Green on his original independent release.

"Bring Me Your Love" delivers Green's signature delicate vocals accompanying another set of candid musings, which continue to articulate his engaging perspective on love and life. It rings with frames of beautiful melody surrounding meaty indie, folk-rock landscapes.
